Profile of the Event

The Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou holds the International Triennial of Glass and Jewellery once every 3 years, a showcase of the best that has appeared on the Czech glass and costume jewellery market in the last 3 years.

Project characteristics

  • It is the largest non-commercial exhibition of contemporary Czech glass and jewellery in the entire Czech Republic.
  • The event aims to support cultural and creative industries. It continues the tradition of international exhibitions of jewellery and glass, which were held in Jablonec nad Nisou regularly from the 1960s until 1989, attracting significant public interest.
  • Except during the museum’s reconstruction, it has been organized on a three-year cycle. The 10th edition will take place in 2026.
  • Thanks to its unique program, it has been recognized as one of the most significant events regularly supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
  • The 2026 edition will feature thematically focused exhibitions, two symposia, and several accompanying events organized in collaboration with partners.

The main objectives of the project

  • To present contemporary Czech glass and jewellery to both general and professional audiences, in the context of international competition.
  • To showcase glass as a sustainable and infinitely recyclable material.
  • To strengthen awareness of northern Bohemia as a center of glass and jewellery production.
  • To promote the Museum of Glass and Jewellery as the only state-run specialized institution and a center for the presentation of Glass and Jewellery production in the Czech Republic.
